He has performed 10,000+ surgeries, authored 7 surgical textbooks, published 500+ peer-reviewed papers, and trained 130+ spine surgeons. He is Chief Executive Officer of the Seattle Science Foundation and an angel investor in medical technology.

He completed his MD at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, neurosurgical residency under Dr. John A. Jane, Sr. at the University of Virginia, and a fellowship in New Zealand. He is a published author of 8 surgical textbooks, 500+ papers, and 7,400+ citations. He serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Seattle Science Foundation, leads an active expert-witness practice, and invests in surgical robotics and medical technology as an angel. A Persian-American who speaks Farsi, he has collaborated with surgeons from Kenyatta National Hospital since 2014.
